A Hearse Might Not Be the Worst Option

Question of the Day: When is the best time to give bad news?

Thought of the Day: “The reason some portraits don’t look true to life is that some people make no effort to resemble their pictures.” Salvador Dalí

_______________

Good Morning Reader,

Some people look like they belong on the cover of a magazine but turn out to be downright unpleasant. Others might look like something from a horror movie yet have the kindest hearts you’ll ever encounter.

Salvador Dalí had an interesting observation about portraits, and it got me thinking about how many different ways we can interpret a single sentence.

Today’s Thought of the Day, The Person in the Picture, explores what we see, what we assume, and what might be hiding behind the picture.

Then there’s the uncomfortable business of delivering bad news.

Do you invite someone out for a few drinks? Get them laughing first? Ask them to sit down because you need to “talk”? Or just rip off the Band-Aid and get it over with?

Today’s Question of the Day, Is There Ever a Good Time for Bad News?, considers the many ways we might handle a conversation nobody particularly wants to have.

Two very different things to think about today.

Ken
