How much of your family’s story is missing?

Question of the Day: What's something about your family's past you wish you knew more about?

Thought of the Day: “Remember the sky that you were born under, know each of the star's stories.” Joy Harjo

_______________

Good Morning Reader,

How much do you really know about the people who came before you?

I know some of the names in my family tree, but there are plenty of questions I can’t answer. Why did my relatives leave their home countries? What happened to the people they left behind? What was life like when they first arrived in America?

The strange part is that some of those answers might be closer than I think. My sister has done genealogical research, and I haven’t taken the time to sit down and ask her what she’s discovered.

Today’s Thought of the Day, The Stories Written in Our Stars, reflects on Joy Harjo’s reminder to remember where we come from and the stories that brought us here.

And today’s Question of the Day, The Family Stories We Never Heard, asks what part of your family’s past you’d most like to know more about.

Maybe there’s a story you’ve always wondered about. Or maybe there’s someone you’ve been meaning to ask.

Either way, I’d love to hear your answer.

Stay Golden,
KB
